Forensics Week-Day 3

This past Wednesday, April 27, our Fundamentals in Biomedical Sciences class was visited by Mr. Paul O. Prine, Chief of the Mobile Police Department. Chief Prine came to speak with our class about his journey to becoming Chief of the Mobile Police Department and give us advice that we can carry with us into the future. He began by telling us about himself. He knew that he wanted to go into the police force from a young age, and he did just that out of high school. He worked in the police force for 26 and a half years before he became chief. He started from the very bottom and worked his way up from there. He told us that the way he was able to achieve this was through consistent hard work and a good attitude. As Chief Prine says, in the end, the cream always rises to the top. Those who show up everyday with a positive, willing-to-learn attitude, and always do the right thing will eventually find success. Superiors will put those you are willing to learn and work hard on their team. The climb to success is often slow, but it is rewarding. He ended by telling us to always be the best versions of ourselves, regardless of what everyone around us is doing. No matter what career path we take, we can always strive to be the best that we can. Chief Prine was incredibly inspiring, and I am grateful for this experience to meet and learn from him!
